How are you doing? I hope you’re enjoying your holidays as much as I am. I’m not very keen on processions, so I’ve been relaxing and watching many films and exhibitions. If you want to take a break from processions, I strongly recommend you a great exhibition at CAC Málaga called ‘At home I’m a tourist’ Colección de Selim Varol.
Selim Varol is a collector and is currently displaying at CAC a few of his 15,000 artist toys.
Varol began collecting toys when he was six. Varol’s collection is a statement in refusing to let go of his childhood passion, and a representation of the cultures of his generation from hip hop to punk, skate culture to urban art. Many of the items are reflections on his favorite childhood toys, comics and TV characters.

And there’s also some “committed” art (or social) art. It’s the kind of art that makes you think. Have a look at this piece by Shepard Fairey, for example.
What do you think? Let me know if you visit the exhibition!
